Concours de la famille Baxter sur le fédéralisme
La Faculté de droit et la Chaire Peter MacKell sur le fédéralisme de l’Université McGill sont fières d’annoncer la création du Concours de la famille Baxter sur le fédéralisme, rendu possible grâce au généreux soutien de Rachel Baxter (B.Sc.’84, B.C.L.’88) et de Colin Baxter (B.C.L.’90, LL.B.’90). Tous deux pratiquent le droit à Ottawa, respectivement dans le domaine du droit des sociétés et du litige.
L’objectif principal de ce prestigieux concours de rédaction bisannuel est de promouvoir la recherche et de favoriser un débat éclairé sur le fédéralisme parmi les étudiants en droit, les candidats au doctorat, les juristes et les jeunes avocats à l’échelle mondiale ayant moins de cinq ans d’expérience.
Les finalistes seront invités à présenter leur texte lors d’un symposium organisé par la Faculté de droit de l’Université McGill à Montréal à la fin mars 2017, dans le cadre du 150e anniversaire de la Confédération canadienne de 1867, et les trois premiers lauréats se verront attribuer des prix de 5 000 $, 3 000 $ et 1 000 $, respectivement.

Arnold & Blema Steinberg Post-Doctoral Fellowships in International Migration Law & Policy
The vision and generosity of the Steinberg Foundation is at the heart of this exciting new $50,000 post-doctoral fellowship in migration law and policy.
Funded by the Arnold and Blema Steinberg Foundation, the Post-doctoral Fellow(s) will work as part of a research team in collaboration with the Oppenheimer Chair in Public International Law and the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) under the leadership and supervision of Professor François Crépeau, Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, and the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants.

Nappert Prize in International Arbitration
Thanks to the generosity of Sophie Nappert (BCL’86, LLB’86), the Nappert Prize in International Arbitration will be awarded for the second time in 2016. The submitted essays must relate to commercial or investment arbitration.
Winning one of the awards will also carry with it the presentation of the paper at a symposium to be held at McGill in autumn 2016 (the expenses of the winners for attending the symposium will be covered). The symposium will take place on Wednesday, 19 October 2016.
The Nappert Competition is open to all students, junior scholars and junior practitioners from around the world. To be eligible for the prize, authors must be either currently enrolled in a B.C.L, LL.B., J.D., LL.M., D.C.L., or Ph.D. program (or their local equivalents). Those who are no longer in school must have taken their most recent degree within the last three years, or have been admitted to the bar (or the local equivalent) for no more than three years (whichever is later).
