Ken Dryden, LLB’73, and Anne-France Goldwater, LLB’80, on Canada Reads

CBC’s Canada Reads battle of books program, pits five Canadian books — as defended by five Canadian personalities — in a showdown series of four debates, in which one book is eliminated per debate and the remaining title is declared the tome that Canada should read.

This year, The Game, by Ken Dryden, LLB’73, was defended by actor and comedian Alan Thicke while Anne-France Goldwater, BCL’80, argued in favour of The Tiger, by John Vaillant.

The show wrapped up during the second week of February, and The Game stayed in the race right until the very end, but ultimately lost out in a narrow 3-2 vote to Carmen Aguirre’s Something Fierce. To listen to the debates or to watch them on video, visit http://www.cbc.ca/books/canadareads/.
