This is a bilingual collection of 42 tributes from leading jurists, practitioners and legal academics, including former Supreme Court of Canada judges Frank Iacobucci and Claire L’Heureux-Dubé, in honour of the late SCC Justice Charles Doherty Gonthier (BCL’51, LLD’90).

Its publication follows the Justice Gonthier Memorial Conference held at McGill’s Faculty of Law in May 2011, which also celebrated the values and life’s work of the eminent McGill alumnus. (LexisNexis Canada, softcover, 2012)

Professors René Provost and Colleen Sheppard co-edited the upcoming Volume 17 of the series “Ius Gentium: Comparative Perspectives on Law and Justice,” entitled Dialogues on Human Rights and Legal Pluralism.

Bringing together authors with established track records in legal pluralism and human rights, the publication features Sheppard’s “Equality through the Prism of Legal Pluralism” and Provost’s “E Pluribus UnumBhinneka Tunggal Ika? Universal Human Rights and the Fragmentation of International Law,” co-written with Carlos Iván Fuentes and Sam Walker, as well as several chapters by McGill colleagues Rod Macdonald, Frédéric Mégret, Jane Matthews Glenn, Jean-Guy Belley, Angela Campbell, and several external authors. As a whole, it explores ways in which legal pluralism and human rights can be mutually reinforcing, de-legitimizing, or competing. (Springer, hardcover and e-book, 2013)
